The Perfect Fall Bootie

Fashion Details:

Hello August, can you believe it?  I certainly can’t! August has always reminded me of back to school and back to school shopping!  I remember when I was little the excitement I got from picking out my first-day-of-school outfit and perfecting it for weeks.  I can literally remember every first-day-of-school outfit since the second grade. And that is where my love for fall fashion started, as a little second grader.   At that time I had no idea fall booties would be a hot trend years later.

Flash forward to today, I’m 38 and the first day of school was a long time ago, but the same excitement for fall clothes is flowing through my bones.  This year I’m beyond excited about fall booties. I took a break last year and didn’t buy any new ones, so this year I am excited to refresh my collection.  But I might have gone a bit overboard too! I ended up getting three new pairs of fall booties from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, which is the best time to pick up fall deals. Hurry over to to the sale, you can access it here, it ends August 5th!

While I picked up three pairs of fall booties, which I’ll share with you today, I’m going to focus on one pair in particular, the Franco Sarto Seville Bootie in greystone suede.  If you are only going to buy one bootie for Fall, this is the bootie you must get!  There are several features of this bootie that make it the must have footwear for the Fall.

Heel Height

Finding the right size heel height for your shoe is usually based on what activity you will be doing in the shoe.  At night I’m wearing a 3-4 inch heel, because I want to be tall! During the day I’m searching for something smaller that will give me a little height without putting a ton of stress on my feet.  I’m a city girl, which means I walk everywhere. I could walk up to 6 miles on a Saturday from running errands to heading out to brunch. I want my feet to be comfortable, yet look stylish.

With a 1.5 inch heel height the Seville Bootie is the perfect run around town heel height.  While it’s small, it is mighty. It provides the click, click heel sound that I love while being close enough to the ground to not cause a ton of stress on my feet.

Easy to Slip On and Off

I’m constantly in out and of my condo and I have a strict “no shoe” policy indoors. This means I need to be able to slip my shoes on and off easily.  I’ll admit putting these on for the first time I had to get on the floor and get my hands in there. After one time of doing that I was able to easily get them on and off by wiggling my foot into them.  Slipping them off is just as easy. I basically press my toes down and work my foot out of it. Given that they are suede I don’t want to use the toe of one shoe to take off the other. I need to keep that suede looking good.

Walk for Miles

It’s sad and I thought this day would never come, but comfortable feet are truly important.  I used to be able to walk for miles in flip flops and then a couple of years ago foot support became a focus.  Don’t get me wrong, I still rock the 3 or 4 inch heels for a night out, but not for running around town.

The Seville Bootie provides hours of comfort around town.  Being a city gal my feet are my main mode of transportation.  On some weekends I rack up 7 miles running errands so having my feet feel good during those 7 miles is invaluable.

Pointy Toe

You all know my love for the pointy toe flat, it’s one of the 5 Key Pieces you need in your closet.  My favorite pointy toe flats are these M. Gemi pair, they are ultra chic!  The Seville bootie offers the perfect pointy toe bootie for Fall. The pointy toe dresses the shoe up a bit and allows you to take it from day to night, even in a lower heel height.

The actual point of the toe soft and not too “pointy” which is why I love it.  You look effortlessly dressed up even when running to the grocery store!

What Other Booties Did I Pick Up

I told you I picked up three pairs of fall booties and I’ve only talked about one.  As you can tell the Seville Bootie is my Fall favorite, but these other pairs are a close second.

Franco Sarto Lowe Bootie

This is a dream fall bootie!  The leather on these puppies smells amazing and is super soft, it literally feels like a cloud on your foot.  The heel height is lower then I would typically buy for a “night out” bootie, but that style grabbed my eye. The sleek wedge heel and ultra pointy toe scream evening chic!  I can also wear these around town during the day for running errands or brunch

Sam Edelman Maurine Bootie

This pair is a more casual fall bootie option and one I needed to round out my wardrobe.  I’ve been wearing some tired old booties and they needed to be refreshed. I love the side buckle on these and the larger heel.  Yes a 2.75 inch heel is considered larger in my world. The blue stone suede is beautiful and it’s actually more of a bluish grey!  This pair is great for more localized daytime activities, like lunch or hanging with friends.
