Surprisingly the one item I’m lacking in my closet is bags. I have a few favorites, but over the years I’ve paired down my collection and just focused on the classics. As I started to have kids I noticed my bags got smaller or even non-existent as I use the diaper bag as my purse. I am slowly building up my small crossbody bag collection and my work tote collection. In addition, now that I’m back in the office, having a work tote that can do it all is very important. And finding work totes under $300 can sometimes be a challenge.

I walk to work, over a mile each way! So having a tote that can do it all is critical. I need something that can easily be carried on my shoulder and most importantly, something that will hold a ton! At any given time I have to carry shoes, a laptop, my lunch, wallet, a book, phone…the list can go on! And let’s not forget traveling for work. I’ll have to start that up again and when I do I want a tote that can travel nicely and also work as a small carryon. Therefore, the more I can stuff in it the better.

I was recently gifted the Everlane Cactus Tote and was quickly impressed by this beautiful bag. It is a modern take of a traditional bottomless work tote bag. It’s huge and can hold just about everything! You can see how big it is in the photos, and the dimensions are:

The shape is unique too. It’s technically a triangle, which is eye-catching. The tote is made from Desserto® plant-based leather alternative, which has a lower environmental footprint compared to traditional leather. Furthermore, it’s just as durable and looks like leather, but it’s better for the environment and everyday wear and tear.

The handles feature a unique design and do lay flat on your shoulder, making it an ideal work tote or travel tote. In addition, it has one inside pocket that I use for my keys and cell phone. However, I do recommend getting a small case for other odds and ends you may have as the purse is huge! What I truly love about this work tote is it can fit a laptop, shoes and anything else you may need to get to work.

In addition, the tote comes in two colors; black and brown which will go with just about anything in your closet. I have the brown color, which is luxurious and rich looking. It makes any outfit you wear polished and professional.

I will be toting this tote around well into the fall and winter. I love that it is usable in all the seasons!
