Favorite Aldi Finds

Do you guys know how to make grocery shopping more fun?  No it’s not by ordering on InstaCart, it’s by shopping at Aldi!  I am proud to say that we are an Aldi household and proud of it.  We’ve been shopping there consistently for about 2 years now and I can’t believe we ever shopped anywhere else.  My favorite part of shopping there are my favorite Aldi Finds.

The savings alone is out of this world.  For two weeks worth of meals we spend about $150 on average per trip.  Yes, we only grocery shop every other week, which means I plan out two weeks worth of meals at a time (you can find my weekly menus here).  If needed we pick up fresh veggies and fruits in our neighborhood to make it through the weeks.  But when we Aldi shop we stock up!

My favorite Aldi finds are great and just as good as the regular grocery store.  In fact, the milk we buy is sold at Target and other grocery stores and is $1.50 cheaper at Aldi.  I know that seems small, but that adds up over time.  Other staples I love are eggs, half and half, cream cheese, cottage cheese, breads and oyster crackers.  Those too are a fraction of the cost.

Top Fifteen Aldi Finds

The best thing about Aldi is finding the hidden gem, the item that surpasses your expectations and is tastier than it’s name brand rival.  I’ve tested all of these and can say without a doubt they are the best Aldi Finds out there.  I have these items stocked in my house at all times and can’t live without them.  Let’s check them out.

Pesto

aldi pesto

While pesto is easy to make (you can find my recipe here), I still have to buy all the ingredients to make it.  Having this ready-to-go jar of pesto in the pantry is a life saver.  It is full of flavor and tastes like a high end Italian restaurant.  I use it mainly with chicken, but also love it on French bread with a tomato.

Risotto

Aldi Risotto

Risotto is intimidating to make from scratch, but this product makes it easy.  Everything you need is in the package and it takes about 20 minutes to make.  My favorite flavors are the four cheeses and roasted garlic, they are so tasty.  It’s a great side to make with just about any dish and costs less than $2 for a package.

Sausage Patties

Sausage Patties

Have you ever had a McDonald’s sausage patty?  After having one of these Aldi sausage patties, I’m pretty sure that they are made by the same company. You can’t tell the difference, that’s’ how good it tastes.  On Saturday mornings we make our own egg McMuffins with these sausage patties.  However, I add chive cream cheese on my English muffin.

Stackers

potato crisps

I’ve always been a chip girl, I can’t get enough of them.  Pringles are my favorite and these are just as good, but only cost $1!  They have three flavors; plain, cheddar and sour cream and onion.  The sour cream and onion flavor are the closest match to real Pringles.

Cheese Crisps

Cheese Crisps

When I want to dress up a salad I add these cheese crisps to it.  They are savory and taste exactly like the ones sold at Trader Joes.  I also snack on them right out of the box.

American Cheese

American Cheese

My worst habit is eating slices of American cheese.  It’s kind of gross and totally unhealthy, but I love it!  I personally don’t like individually wrapped Kraft singles, but I like Kraft deli slices.  The Aldi American Cheese is actually better than the Kraft cheese.  It’s thicker and holds up better on a sandwich.  It also melts nicer in a grilled cheese sandwich.

Goat Cheese with Honey

Aldi Finds for the Charcuterie board

Hello gourmet charcuterie board.  Next time you make one at home grab the goat cheese with honey and wow yourself.  It tastes like it came from Whole Foods and for a fraction of the cost.  If you happen to see a Goat Cheese with Truffles while you are there, DO NOT BUY it. It is not as good as the goat cheese with honey, trust me.

House Vinaigrette Salad Dressing

most favorite of all the aldi finds

If I had to pick one Aldi item to be my #1 Aldi Find, it would be this salad dressing.  It is a simple salad dressing, but one that rivals the fanciest of restaurants.  It goes with any salad and is always a crowd pleaser.

Marinated Artichokes

Marinated Artichokes

We are on a salad kick right now and these marinated artichokes are the perfect accessory.   They dress up any salad and can be eaten alone too.  I often make a mini charcuterie board for lunch and include these with a couple meats and cheeses.

Mini Pizza Crusts

aldi finds Mini Pizza Crusts

Make your own pizza night is a family favorite in our house.  These mini crusts comes three in a pack and tastes exactly like Home Run Inn Pizza crust.  It’s a light buttery crust that crisps up perfectly in the oven.   And everyone can make their own, which is always fun.

Caesar Salad Kits

Aldi finds for work lunches

My go -o lunch in the office (and at home now) is a salad.  It has everything you need in one bag.  From the croutons to the cheese and the perfect Caesar dressing.  It’s easy to have a great salad quickly.

Thin Wheat Crackers

Thin Wheat Crackers

A play on words for the original Wheat Thins, it’s a bit funny.  However in a blind taste test I can’t tell the difference between the Aldi Thin Wheat and the brand name Wheat Thins.

Breakfast Sandwiches

favorite aldi finds Breakfast Sandwiches

When I’m not making my own egg McMuffins I’m popping one of these frozen breakfast sandwiches in the microwave.  These sandwiches taste exactly like the Jimmy Dean ones and are way cheaper.  My tip is to toast the croissant in the toaster and microwave the rest of it.  It takes 30 seconds longer to do, but tastes so much better.

Mild Giardinera

Chicago Aldi Finds Mild Giardinera

I’m a true Chicago gal and LOVE giardiniera.  In fact I eat it plain, right out of the jar sometimes.  The Aldi giardiniera is 10 times better than the traditional Chicago brands.  Now I’m not sure if this is a Chicago Aldi find or if it’s available across the country.  So if you are outside of Chicago and find it, buy it, you can thank me later!  I love this Chicago Aldi Find.

Honey

aldi finds Honey

This is random because all honey tastes the same, it really does.  However this honey is so cheap you can’t pass it up.  It’s still one of the pricier items at Aldi, coming in around $5 or $6, but that’s way cheaper than what you will find at a large grocery store.
