Spring Shoe Collection

Fashion Details:

Spring has sprung and that means one thing…bare ankle weather.  I wait all winter long to bust out my ankles and go sock free in the spring.  To say I’m excited is an understatement.  My spring shoes bring me so much joy for a couple reasons.  They are ten times more fun than the same old winter boots.  In addition, they compliment my short pants nicely.  I’m a tall gal so the majority of my pants are ankle length and while they work with socks, they look so much better with a bare ankle.

My spring shoe collection isn’t something I went out and bought overnight.  I’ve carefully curated this collection over the years.  Some of the shoes in my spring shoe collection I have had for years and some are new for me this year.  My price range for these shoes are all over the place too and that is by design.  I firmly believe in investing in a good pair of shoes that you will have for years.  However, I also believe that having a few cheaper pairs that are trendy for the season are good to have in my collection.  I don’t toss those cheaper pairs after a season, if they are still in good shape I will keep them around.

Spring Shoe Collection

Here is a closer look at my Spring Shoe Collection that I own and love.

Rothy’s The Lace Up

white sneakers - a must have in a spring shoe collection

Why I Love Them – The comfort is top notch and they are machine washable.  I love white sneakers, but keeping them clean is always a challenge.  With my Rothy’s I can toss them in the washing machine, let them air dry and they are sparkling white again!  Furthermore, the break-in period is brief too, about one wear and you are ready to go.

Sizing – Run tts, I have my regular size 8 and they are perfect

Price –  $165

Rothy’s The Square Flat

Why I Love Them – I have the tuxedo pattern and they are a play on the classic Chanel flat, which is timeless.  The comfort and washability are huge selling factors for me.  However, the style is why I love them.  They look chic and classic, without trying hard.  In addition, they require no break in period.

Sizing – I would size up a half size.  I almost always take my true size, however, in these I went up a half size and I’m glad I did.  My normal size was slightly uncomfortably tight and I had a feeling they wouldn’t stretch.  I was right and the 8.5 fits perfectly.

Price – $125

M Gemi Drivers

Why I Love Them – These are my upgraded mom shoe.  I was looking for something I could quickly slip into when running out the door and still look polished.  A clean driver instantly pulls together your look.  They have multiple color options as well as a leather and suede option.  I loved the suede, but felt I would ruin them quickly, so I went with leather.

Sizing – Size up a half size and they will fit perfectly.  The website suggests to do this and it was spot on.  While the shoes are made of a soft leather and will stretch a little, you still want to size up the half size.  By doing this there is no break in period and the shoes mold nicely to your feet.

Price – $225

Sarah Flint Natalie Flat

Why I Love Them – Such a classic beauty that always looks polished.  I love the pointy toe and subtle bow detail on the shoe.  They come in 10 color options, I own the Saddle Vachetta, which is a cognac color.  You can find my full review of the shoe here.  I love them for work or weekend and especially for work travel as you can be comfortable on the plane and polished in the office.

Sizing – Runs tts, however you will need to break these shoes in.  I went with my normal size, an 8 and they were slightly snug. Furthermore, I suggest wearing a thick sock around the house for a couple hours to stretch them out.  Once stretched the leather molds to your foot.

Price – $425, if you use code SARAHFLINT-BAAMYKR you will get $50 off your purchase

Leopard Sneakers

Why I Love Them – I technically didn’t need another pair of sneakers, but these were cute and I loved the leopard print on them.  They are a fun shoe that gets me excited for Spring.

Sizing – Runs tts, I have an 8 and have no issues.  The break in period is about one wear.  In fairness I have sensitive feet so it takes me longer to break in shoes.  I wore a shorty sock with them the first time and it reduced the friction.  After that I was able to go sock free.

Price – $25

Everlane Rainboots

rain boots in my spring shoe collection

Why I Love Them – They are durable, have a slip resistant tread and offer easy on and off access with the elastic side panel.  I always have a pair of rain boots on hand and this year I upgraded to the Everlane pair.  They are stylish and functional for rainy days.

Sizing – Runs tts and are made to be worn with a thicker sock.  I have an 8 and they fit great. No break in period required.

Price – $75
