Simple Fall Outfit with Everlane

a flat lay of a simple fall outfit

The weather has officially changed in Chicago and it’s fall. Which means sweater weather is officially here and I’m so excited. When I was pregnant last year I spent most of the time wearing oversized sweaters, not showing my waist line and missing my clothes. This year I’m ready to bust out my waistline and wear more fitted sweaters! My go-to for fall sweaters is Everlane. They have great staple pieces that I have been collecting over the years. In fact, for a few seasons now they have brought back several items as they are that popular. Putting together a simple fall outfit with Everlane basics is super easy to do.

Simple Fall Outfit

My simple fall outfit formula isn’t earth shattering (jeans and a sweater), but how I style it all up is what makes it special.  Take a peek…

Chore Sweater Jacket

Chore Sweater Jacket from Everlane

LOVE this sweater!  It’s a medium chunky weight and the details are everything. The collar, patch pockets and large buttons blend together beautifully. It’s heavy enough to wear as a jacket when temps are in the 50’s and perfect to layer on colder days. There are a lot of style options with this piece. It runs tts, I’m wearing a medium.

Jeans

I’m branching out and saying hello to an old fashion pair of bootcut jeans. This pair has a split hem which is the cutest! You can wear a flat with them or an ankle boot, like I am. I’m wearing a 31 and they gap a little in the back.  However they are a super high rise and stay on my body. They have minimal stretch in them. I would say they fit tts.

High Ankle Boots

This is my third pair of the ReKnit Boot. I think it’s safe to say I’m a huge fan! The heel height is great for walking around town and the soft knit material molds to your foot. I have the standard ankle pair in brown and black. The higher ankle style is great for dresses or a straight leg jean.  These run tts, I’m wearing an 8.

Style Notes

I’m styling my look for a weekend day with the family. Typical weekends involve looks of walking, a few errands, a playground and rolling around on the floor. I can do it all in this outfit.

  • Hermes Scarf – Extra warm for chiller days. I do remove this if I’m holding Maggie. Baby spit up and silk do not mix.
  • Belt Bag – Hands free is the only way to go with two little kids. I can fit everything I need in here; wallet, keys, phone, snacks and Kleenex.
