I’m a sucker for a matching set whether it’s for a casual look or a dressy look. And when it comes to workwear I go wild for a matching set! There in nothing more stylish that a matching dress and jacket or pants and a blazer. It instantly dresses makes you look put together and the most stylish person in the room. A matching set for workwear is the ultimate style statement.
I have several traditional navy and black matching sets. I love the versatility of them and the ability to wear the pieces separate and together. But a girl can only have so much navy and black. Having a non-traditional color in a matching set ups the versatilely game for sure. This season MM LaFleur introduced their fresh Jade Blue color and it literally made my heart skip a beat! It’s soft, bold and fresh and I’m loving all the pieces it comes in! While it’s a spring color, you can easily wear it in the summer and fall. I love the ability to wear items across multiple seasons as it brings down my cost per wear.

The Angel Dress
MM LaFleur does dress so well! It’s like putting on a special made garment every time. For this dress the length hits right at the knee, which is an ideal spot for me. I’m mid-forties and 5’9, I’m all about tasteful sophistication in my work dresses. I did take this is a size 10, which is my normal size, however I feel that the dress runs big. My official recommendation would be size down in this dress. I ended up getting my tailor to fit my chest better and its perfect now.
The Yasmine Blazer
I haven’t owned a blazer like this before. It is implacably made; no detail was spared on this blazer. It’s it structured, yet not ridged and uncomfortable. It is perfectly tailored to create a soft waist line, which is super flattering. I took a size 8 in this blazer, which is my true size and it fits perfectly snug. If you are in between sizes I would size up for a more comfortable fit.
The Smith Pant
This is a straight leg pant with a generous hip and leg. I typically find that straight leg pants aren’t forgiving, but these are definitely roomy in the hip and upper thigh area. In terms of sizing I took a 10 in these, which is my typically size in MM pants and they fit great. I actually had the waist taken in a bit, but I love the way they fit my hips.
Color Options
Styling Jade Blue pieces can be done a few ways. Here are a few color options for Jade Blue that will word perfectly for each season.
Spring – Pair with black for the spring. This will allow the Jade Blue pieces to be the focal point of the outfit. It will also allow you to ease into fresh colors for spring while hanging onto those winter hues.
Summer – Pair with cream and taupe for the summer. Keep with a warm cream hue to soften this look into summer. I would stay away from a traditional white because that can be to harsh against the Jade Blue. Taupe also goes great for summer, it’s soft and not as harsh as black or brown for this season.
