Everlane Choose What You Pay Summer Event

everlane choose what you pay

Hello friends!  Summer is in full effect and I couldn’t be happier.  This past weekend we finally got our outdoor balcony together, well sort of.  We have a couch and a grill, but are working on the rest. Also, we ordered an outdoor rug, some more pillows and picked up a few plants and herbs. I’ll be sharing more on Instagram in the comings days so be sure to follow along over there too!

Today’s post is an exciting post about one of my favorite brands, Everlane.  If you’ve been following along a while now you will know that last year I attended their Denim Pop-up in Chicago (you can read the full post here) and fell in love with this brand.  In addition, I wore their Authentic Stretch Denim for a good portion of my pregnancy and came right back to them after giving birth.  I did size up originally, but they are still a miracle pair of jeans.

Everlane already has very reasonable prices because they focus on the product and consumer.  Their brand is simple and to the point. They focus on taking an ethical approach to clothing, designing quality pieces that stand the test of time and commit to radical transparency, which is my favorite part. Furthermore, their prices are affordable and they list the entire cost to make the item along with the markup. It’s so refreshing to see a brand do this and not rip you off!

Twice a year Everlane has a huge event called called Choose What You Pay.  It’s not a sale—it’s actually better. Everlane uses this event to clear out inventory of items they have overproduced to make room for newer pieces.  So twice a year they choose the products and you choose what you pay, with discounts around 30%, 20% and 10% off. The semi-annual Choose What You Pay event happens every winter and summer and it’s truly a huge event.

So why do they offer three different prices?  They want to give the consumer the option to pay.  Everlane is built on transparency of the product and markup costs.  In about 10% of the cases the consumer chooses to pay more (meaning not the lowest price).  Honesty up front demands honesty in return.  I’ve broken down all my top picks by category, check it out!

Shoes

I own five pairs of Everlane shoes that I wear very regularly.  In fact, I bought my first pair of loafers in this event a couple years ago.  They were a little tight the first couple wears, but after that they molded to my foot and fit like a dream.  In addition, I also have their Day Glove (you can read a full review about them here), Day Heel and Day Cross Sandal, I am a huge fan of their Day Line, which has the hashtag #alldamnday because you can comfortably wear them all damn day!

In terms of sizing the majority of their shoes run true to size.  I almost always purchase my normal size, 8, and have no problem. I will say if they need to be broken in it usually takes 1 to 2 wears to do so.  Here are the new shoe styles added to the event this summer.

Sweaters

Do you own a cashmere sweater?  If not this is the event to pick on up at.  Everlane’s cashmere is already reasonably priced.  Also, it’s also super soft and cozy and holds up year after year.  I actually don’t have a cashmere sweater yet, which is crazy. With these prices though I’ll be grabbing the oversized v-neck in cream.  The options are endless. Check them out below.

Shirts

Plenty of shirts in this event and a lot of them are made from Everlane’s eco-conscious Clean Silk, for more beauty and less waste. You can read about the full process here.  But the quick and dirty version is that they use Bluesign-Certified Dye Houses that removed over 900 harmful chemicals used to dye silk.  Above all they use LEED-Certified Factories to produce the shirts in. By doing their part they are moving towards a cleaner future.

The shirts that are in this event are ideal cuts and colors.  Perfect for work and a few for the weekend too. I would wear the silk shirts to work or out at night.  I am definitely not running around town doing errands in a silk shirt 🙂 Check out the options below.

Coats

I know it’s summer, but summer is the best time to pick up winter deals.  Off season sales are the best time to stock up before it gets cold out. I know I put off buying a winter coat until I actually need it and then it’s too late, because everything is sold out.  Get your hands on these coats and be prepared this winter. I love the half zip puffer, it’s perfect for running to and from the gym in the fall and winter, and even spring in some locations.

Jumpsuit and Dresses

Shocking that the jumpsuit is the event because they just released it.  Read my full post on why this is the perfect beginner jumpsuit here and put it in your cart now.  You will thank me later! Furthermore, they also have easy breezy silk swing dresses that are ideal for warmer summer month.
