Vanity Planet Facial Steamer Review

vanity planet facial steamer

While I wouldn’t call myself a huge beauty person I do have a pretty extensive skincare routine.  However I’m a fully at home skincare person.  l don’t get facials and I don’t do any injections or treatments at a spa.  And clean beauty is a huge focus for me.  I care about the chemicals that make up the products I use and what I am putting on my body.  When I saw the Vanity Planet Facial Steamer come across my Instagram feed I was intrigued.  It’s not evasive, yet replicates a spa like service.  I also have seen a few of my favorite influencers talking about it.

As you know, I love trying things out to see if it’s the real deal or simply great marketing.  So like a good consumer I waited for a sale to buy it and couldn’t wait to try it out for you all.  Today I’m sharing my honest review of the Vanity Planet Aira Ionic Facial Steamer  including the benefits of the steamer and how to incorporate it into your everyday beauty routine.

Benefits

The Vanity Planet Aira Ionic Facial Steamer  is a tiny, but powerful machine.  It packs a huge punch and provides several positives for your skin, including:

  • Detoxifies and cleanses your skin like a spa
  • Stimulates circulation
  • Moisturizes, hydrates and softens your skin
  • Opens your pores and allows your skin to be more receptive to other skincare products
  • Nao-sized water molecules instantly hydrate your skin
  • Promotes better blood circulation

Practical Use

The Vanity Planet Aira Ionic Facial Steamer  is completely foolproof.  You simply fill it up and press the On button.  I will say opening the reservoir is a little tricky at first.  In order to open it you need to push in and up at the same time.  This tip will save you a lot of time!

You need to use distilled water in the steamer.  Tap water will build up and calcify in the steamer over time.   I picked up a jug at Target and keep it under the bathroom sink.  The reservoir only holds enough for one steaming session so you do need to refill it each time, which is a little bit of a pain.

The brand recommends using the facial steamer 1-2 times per week.  If you want to use it 2-3 times a week you can, but you shouldn’t do it back to back.  I personally use it 2 times a week max.  I always use it on Sunday because starting off the week with a fresh hydrated face makes me feel like a million bucks.

When prepping your skin for the steamer, simply wash off any makeup with a gentle cleanser.  Steam first and do everything else after.  Steaming your face will allow your pores to open and let your skincare products work deeper and harder for you.  This includes exfoliating after you steam as well.

My Beauty Routine

To give you a sense of how I use the facial steamer here is a breakdown of the steps I take and the products I use.  This whole routine takes about 15-20 minutes, with the bulk of the time going to steaming.  I spend 10-15 minutes steaming my face and it is glorious.  I have no distractions and can simply relax.

  1. Cleanse with BeautyCounter Clear Pore Cleanser
  2. Steam with Vanity Planet Aira Ionic Facial Steamer
  3. Mask with BeautyCounter Charcoal Mask or Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel (I alternate depending on what my skin needs)
  4. Apply BeautyCounter Overnight Resurfacing Pee
  5. Apply Elemis Oxygenating Night Cream

Overall Rating

My overall rating is an A!  I highly recommend the Vanity Planet Aira Ionic Facial Steamer  and believe it is worth the price.  While I bought it with a coupon I can say that paying full price would be totally worth it too.

After one use I could see a difference in my skin and the way it felt.  It was plumped up and hydrated.  I felt refreshed and relaxed from the down time I took to use the steamer.
