Toddler Girls Bedroom Design

I truly intended on posting about this a year ago, but supply chain issues delayed me and yes I’m being serious! Right before Maggie arrived we moved Lizzie into her toddler girls bedroom and my excitement was through the roof. Giving Lizzie a new space that reflected her personality and was functional for everyday life was important. Another important factor was storage. We live in a condo and space is limited and you need to get creative sometimes. Above all, I wanted Lizzie to be part of the process and get to pick out things too.

Room Transformation

We actually had to create her toddler girls bedroom. It was originally a much bigger room with an ensuite bathroom.  We de-converted it, separated the bathroom and made a traditional bedroom. Due to the new layout the original closet associated with the room now fell outside the room.  Which meant we had to add a closet in the bedroom.

We decided to go with California Closets and I’m so happy we did. It was expensive, but 100% worth it. My list of requirements for the closet included having traditional hanging space, drawers, shelves and maximize the floor to ceiling space. In the end I got everything I asked for and the piece is gorgeous! The closet is the primary piece of furniture in the room, I have no other dressers in the room. Over all I highly recommend California Closets. They are worth the price.

Furniture

Bed

This bed caused way more headaches than I care to talk about it. I originally ordered this bed because I love the headboard and the under-bed storage. The bed took over 9 months to arrive and then when they delivered it they ruined the walls in the house and left a couple spots on the bed. While I love the bed and the storage it provides, I will never order furniture from Pottery Barn again. This is the Ava bed from Pottery Barn Teen in the Light Gray Performance Everyday Velvet. The same bed is also sold under the Pottery Barn Kids brand. The difference is the fabric choices. Be sure to check out both sites to see the options.

Lamps

Tall Lamp

How adorable is this lamp? It’s so cute and fancy. The lamp is from Pottery Barn Teen and I ordered it around the same time as the bed. It took forever to arrive and the experience was also painful, however, I love the lamp!  It provides great light for the entire room and uses an LED bulb. The room doesn’t have a ceiling light and this lamp does the trick.

Nightstand Lamp

I picked up this lamp at Target and it’s adorable.  It’s a 3-way light and I love having the options for light. Lizzie is currently obsessed with the nightlight feature on it.

Book Nook

This was the piece of furniture I was most excited about.  Lizzie loves to read and we have way too many books!  I like the idea of this book nook because it had storage and a bench to sit on.

Nightstand

Because I love to torture myself I ordered this nightstand from Pottery Barn Teen too! My experience with this was actually pleasant and I loved the nightstand.  I did try to purchase a dupe of this from an another furniture site and it didn’t work out. The lesson I learned is just buy what you want in the first place.

Decor

No room is complete without decor!  You can read about how I styled the bookshelves in this post here.  The purple polka dots on the walls are from Urban Walls and they are so easy to use and stay so well on the wall.  I’ve also shared everything else I could from her room below.
