MM LaFleur Chicago Store Opening

All my dreams have come true this week.  MM LaFleur has opened its first Chicago store and I couldn’t be more excited.  For years now I have religiously shopped this brand online and at select pop-ups a couple of times a year.  Now I can finally go to their showroom and shop their beautiful pieces season after season.

The brand is the brainchild of Sara LaFleur, a former financial professional.  She made it her mission to put the fun back into the ritual of getting dressed for work and rethinking the shopping process altogether. Boy did she succeed! The brand literally speaks to me as a professional woman.  From the moment I put on my first Jardigan  I was hooked.  The clothing was ultra chic, yet completely effortless to select and style for everyday wear.

One of Sara’s goals was to make the purposeful woman look and feel beautiful, without having to work too hard at it.   She not only meets that goal, but surpasses it in every way possible.  I love waking up and putting on one of my MM LaFleur dresses, they make me feel like a million bucks and allow me to tackle any task at work.  They have even replaced my old business suits for formal work events.  I throw on my Sara Dress and Jardigan and look just as polished as a man in a full suit.

So how can you get your hands on these fabulous clothes? Start by making an appointment at their Chicago showroom, which is just as stunning as the clothing.  When you arrive, your stylist will have curated a mini trunk of hand selected pieces based on your desired looks.  You sip champagne, try on clothes and and receive personalized styling tips along the way.  Once you decided what you like, they will ship it all to you in a couple days.  What I truly love is how attentive the stylists are and how knowledgeable they are on the fit and style of the clothes.  I’ve left there buying things I would never wear in a million years and end up loving the pieces to death.  They cover all your bases too with dress, pants, tops, jackets, sweater, skirt and outwear, it’s a one stop shop.

In honor of store opening I wanted to share with you a couple of my favorite MM dresses and why I love them.

Sara Dress

Top 5 Reasons Why I Love The Sara Dress

  1. The sleeves make me feel like I can take on the world, I swear they have a secret power.
  2. The material is wrinkle resistant, which makes it perfect for traveling in for hours or packing in a suitcase.
  3. The dress is machine washable and easily line dries in a few hours.
  4. Just about every body shape can wear a shift dress.  I personally had my tailor put darts in the side to add a more defined shape.
  5. The dress speaks for itself.  It’s a classic shape in a beautiful fabric and makes me feel like a million bucks.

Annie Dress

Top 5 Reasons Why I Love the Annie Dress

  1. The length of this dress is perfect for the office.  It’s slightly longer and hits right above the knee.  It’s more on the conservative side, yet still sophisticated.
  2. The V Neck is flattering on any bust size and it’s not too revealing for the office.
  3. The dress can be worn in all seasons.  Wear it alone in the summer, throw on a jardigan in the Spring and Fall and pair it with tights and a turtle neck in the Winter.  You will never grow old of it, it is a versatile piece.
  4. You can take this dress from day to night easily.  Pair it with a blazer during the day at the office and then switch that blazer out for a little leather jacket and a statement necklace for evening.
  5. The price is right on this beauty.  Coming in under $200, its one of the best values you can find out there.

Casey Dress

Top 5 Reasons Why I Love the Casey Dress

  1. It is form fitting and hugs you in the right places, while providing extra support in all the right places too. The faux wrap provides the right amount of ruching in the middle section.
  2. It can be worn for many occasions, work, weekend, or holiday party.
  3. It’s made of a super soft knit that is machine washable!
  4. It travels like a dream.  I can wear this dress on a 6am flight to New York and step off the plane looking just as fresh and  fabulous as I did when I left the house.
  5. This dress now comes in four colors that are deep, rich, beautiful colors.

MM LaFleur has become a closet staple for me. It’s one of my favorite brands because I love the clothes and the message behind it, Live with Purpose.  Dress with ease.  True words to live by!  Don’t forget to make an appointment at MM LaFleur’s new Chicago showroom by visiting their website and let them know you heard about it on Later Ever After!
