Hostess Gifts for Holiday Parties

wine, food, and rectangular plate for hostess gifts for holiday parties

Get togethers are back and that means you need to be stocked with ready to go hostess gifts for holiday parties.  I never show up at a party empty handed, especially around the holidays.  I feel like sometimes I put more time into hostess gifts for holiday parties than I do for regular gifts.  But I love it because that is what the holidays are all about.  Now you can always bring a bottle of wine to a party, but I love to elevate my hostess gifts holiday parties.  Today I’m sharing my ideas for the best hostess gifts to give this holiday season.

Playdate and Teacher Gifts

Christmas mugs with candies for Hostess Gifts for Holiday Parties

Everyone loves to receive a gift even if it’s something small.  I like to have a bunch of these ready to go gifts on hand as I know I’ll need them.  And if I end up not using them I can always share them with Lizzie for something fun to do on winter break. I pass these out to Lizzie’s teachers and also bring one to a playdate if she is going on one around the holidays.

It’s pretty simple to make, which is what I love.  You can add whatever you would like to the mug to make it special.  For example, I love to add chocolates, a cocoa mix, candy cane and a Starbucks gift card too.

Holiday Party

wine and food

Hosting a holiday party is a lot of work.  Therefore, I always ask the host what I can bring or better yet I just offer to bring something.  With this approach I help out the host and I get to give them a gift at the same time.  I plan my appetizer around the gift I’m giving, which would be a holiday serving platter.  I personally love a good holiday platter so when I receive one it’s very special.  My go to appetizer is my holiday cheese ball, I’ll be sharing my recipe soon! I place it on a serving platter and leave the host a small note so they know the plate is theirs to keep!

Supplies:

  • Holiday Platters
  • Note – Thank you for hosting us this holiday season.  When the party’s over enjoy the platter for your own use on this holiday and more to come.  Merry Christmas!

Traditional Hostess Gifts

You should never show up empty handed for a party and giving a traditional hostess gift is always a good idea.  Here are a few ideas I use for gifts.

Favorite Bottle of Wine

Giving your favorite bottle of wine is a nice personal treat.  Furthermore, add a large bow to dress it up and let them know it’s one of your personal favorites.

Holiday Candle

Give your favorite holiday scent to the host.  I am obsessed with the Hudson Grace Winter scent and their matches are the perfect accompaniment.

Appetizer Plates and Cookies

Homemade goodies are always appreciated.  I usually bake too many cookies so when I can give some away I’m happy too.  I simply package up appetizer plates with cookies and give that as my hostess gift.
