The Bodysuit You Need For Fall

everlane bodysuit

Can you believe Fall is around the corner?  I struggle with this time of year. I love summer, however fall is my season.  It’s the season I live for.

There is nothing better than wearing jeans, a cozy top and exposed ankles while its slightly chilly.  I know that after fall comes winter and I’m also becoming a winter person…dare I say bring on the snow.

Fall clothes are my jam, though.  Even though I’ve been out of school for some time the fall reminds me of back to school and a fresh year!  A fresh year means fresh clothes! One of the staples in my closet this season is the bodysuit. The bodysuit has made a strong come back in the last few years and it is here to stay.

I love tight fitting clothes and truly believe that tighter clothes (when done right) make you look smaller.  When you wear baggy clothes it adds extra weight to you and makes you look larger than you are.

Keep the clothes more fitted and you will appear much smaller.  The bodysuit achieves the look I am going for whether it’s in the office or out casually.

With perfect timing, Everlane launched their bodysuit line and OMG they are fabulous!  From the fabric to fit this bodysuit should be in every woman’s closet in the world.

One of the main reasons I love Everlane is their transparency on pricing, you can read more about it here LINK.  What that means for you is that you have cult classics at super reasonable prices to keep your closet full of items you love to wear.

The bodysuit is a closet staple for so many reasons.  It’s the ideal layering piece and can also be worn alone.  It provides a sleek silhouette that always looks polished. And you can pair with with just about everything you already own; jeans, skirts, dress pants, blazers…the list goes on and on.

Fit and Feel

Obviously this Everlane bodysuit fits like a glove, because it’s supposed to be tight.  But the actual fit is one that works with your body, not against it.

It’s soft to the touch and is super lightweight.  While the material is thick, it is not heavy.  It covers you and provides support, while still being breathable.

The Everlane bodysuit has a snap closure on the bottom that doesn’t ride up.  You all know how a bodysuit goes on, like a baby onesie and it can be uncomfortable.  This one isn’t. It stays in place and doesn’t pull. I’d say I have an average torso length and the medium fits great on me.

The square neckline on this Everlane bodysuit really makes it pop!  It’s a statement all by itself, and no jewelry is needed. You most often see bodysuits that are a v neck, scoop neck or crew neck.  The unique neckline on this one is a key reason why I love this top!

Having a bodysuit that is long sleeved gives you more options.  Obviously you can wear it as is with long sleeves. You can always roll up the sleeves to create a ¾ length sleeves or short sleeves.  You just created a few different looks with one top.

How To Wear

So many options for styling your bodysuit, which is why it’s such a closet staple.    From work to weekend the bodysuit will provide several outfit options that can be mixed with pieces you already have in your closet.

On the weekend wear the bodysuit casually during the day.  Pair it with distressed denim or a boyfriend jean for a looser fit on the bottom.  Top the outfit off with your favorite flats or gym shoes. Right now I’m loving the pop of color from the Day Glove in Poppy.  For gym shoes I turn to my Tread Trainers in lavender!

Bring that weekend outfit to night time by layering the Everlane bodysuit with a blazer and heels.  You can easily take the blazer off and wear it alone with dark skinny jeans.

I like to also wear a scarf with my bodysuit and leave it hanging long around my neck.  It provides me with a little extra confidence when I’ve eaten or drank too much when wearing the bodysuit.

The bodysuit is perfectly acceptable in the office too. Pair it with a pleated skirt that is to your knees or longer.  This type of skirt will balance out the form fitted bodysuit. Put on your highest heel and you will look like a million bucks!

Alternatively on a casual Friday you can wear the Everlane bodysuit with jeans and a blazer.  It’s the perfect outfit to take you from desk to drinks in seconds. Who doesn’t love a good glass of wine after work on a Friday?

Everlane’s bodysuits are $35 (the short sleeve one is only $32) which makes them completely wallet friendly. They come in several colors, sleeve lengths and necklines, there is something for everyone.  You can check out all the styles below.
