Black Dresses To Add To Your Closet This Fall

The other day I reached for a dress in my closet that was 10 years old!  It was a beauty, in fabulous condition and of course it was a black dress.  Obviously the most classic color you can find, but the dress itself had a classic silhouette.  I was so delighted I held onto this dress and even more delighted that it fit me!  I tend to gravitate towards those classic pieces, but it’s for a good reason, so I can get my money’s worth out of these pieces!  Immediately I was wondering which black dress was going to be my next hero dress in the closet.  Of course I found a couple classic black dresses for fall that will stand the test of time.

Maisie Dress

If you are looking for a killer dress that can be worn to any occasion, the Maisie dress is for you!  It’s a classic sheath dress designed for the modern woman.  While it has a straight dress, it fits any body type because of the fabric.  It’s super stretchy, but not clingy and has perfectly placed folds and pleats in the mid section.  While the details are minimal, they are stunning.

Wear this dress alone to a cocktail hour or a wedding.  I pair it with an oversized blazer for the office for meetings.  And I also wear a top over it for a top and pencil skirt look.  This top  is perfect to achieve that look.

Jaycie Dress

The Jaycie dress is an MM classic, it was one of the first styles they released when they hit the market 10 years ago.  To celebrate, they brought it back better than ever!  It’s a sleeveless, v-neck, a-line dress that looks good on any body type.  It’s bust friendly, hip friendly and maternity/postpartum friendly.  I find that I wear this dress once a week right now and I’m proud to be an outfit repeater in it!  The dress runs tts and I wear a 10.
