5 Versatile Pieces for Fall

Hello friends!  Fall is just around the corner and I’m so excited!  Don’t worry, I know summer is still here, but I live for fall.  Especially fall clothing and today I’m sharing my top five versatile pieces for fall.

While the pieces are for the fall season they also double as great transitional pieces as the weather starts to cool down.  But let’s get serious, summer stays around till late September these days.

These fall clothing items are great foundation pieces in your wardrobe.  These will be the pieces that you constantly grab in your closet.  They are classic yet on trend for fall. What I love about the pieces is you can wear them alone or mix them together to create classic looks that you want to wear over and over again.

So here we go, here are my top 5 versatile fall clothing pieces.

 Stripped Shirt

Be the quintessential French girl and rock a striped shirt.  It is one of the most versatile tops that you can own. While it’s simple, it’s also sophisticated.  You can wear a striped top casually with sneakers (I’m obsessed with my Trainers by Tread right now) or a leather street shoe (my Eccos are my favorites, the gray color softens them up and provides an alternative to an all-white shoe).

You can also wear the striped shirt with a blazer and a statement necklace to dress it up a bit.  This look is ideal for a casual Friday in the office. You will look perfectly put together with this look.

Here are some options for striped shirts at any price point.

Snake Skin Shoes

You know my love of the leopard print flat. Well, I’ve expanded my animal prints to snake skin this season.  These shoes had my heart from the moment I saw them. I snagged them at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale for a great deal.  Regular price they are $150 and that is a pretty good deal for these high-quality shoes.

There is no breaking in these shoes, they fit perfectly.  They run slightly wide, meaning they aren’t super snuck on your foot.  This doesn’t mean that the shoes slip off easily though. They aren’t so tight that they rub on your heel.  They felt “stretched out” without having to stretch them.

Snake skin is huge addition to the fall clothing trend!  It’s an animal print that is edgy yet sleek and polished. Snake skin prints that come in neutral tones like blacks and creams are the best ones to get.  These go with pretty much everything and look the most natural.

Go Anywhere Jacket

The go anywhere jacket is the perfect piece to round out your outfit.  I’ve been collecting little jackets for years. In fact, some of mine are over ten years old!

The go anywhere jacket takes you from desk to dinner, day to night and dressed up to dress down.  It’s the jacket you grab when running out the door. You get the point; it can go anywhere with you!

Right now I am getting a ton of use out of the One Third Jacket 01.  It’s a white tweed jacket and is structured, yet flexible. It looks great with anything and has great details such as the exaggerated zipper and fringe edges on the sleeves and bottom of the jacket.

Here are some great go anywhere jacket options.

Cashmere Sweater

Could you believe I’ve never owned a cashmere sweater!  I’m changing that this season and picking up my very first cashmere sweater.  Cashmere can be super expensive so I am going to with a starter cashmere sweater, coming in at $100!

Cashmere is timeless and can be worn with jeans or dressed up over a fitted dress for work.  You instantly look put together when you put on a cashmere sweater.

The $100 cashmere on the market today is really top of the line.  It’s soft, durable and fashionable. I just picked up Everlane’s cashmere sweater and can’t wait to wear it on chilly nights.  Here are cashmere sweater options at all price points from $88 to $100.

Distressed Jeans

Distressed jeans are always a good idea.  I bought my first pair last year and did all the research before buying them (you can read about it here).  Now I’m several pairs in and there is no looking back.  With cooler weather coming up I love to pair distressed jeans with leather street shoes for an edgy chic look.  Here are my favorite distressed jeans right now.
